Pakatan has 50-50 chance to win Kedah polls, says Saifuddin

PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan is determined to put up strong opposition to PAS in the Terengganu and Kelantan state elections, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Speaking to reporters after Pakatan Harapan's presidential council meeting, the coalition's secretary-general said another focus was to successfully defend Negri Sembilan, Selangor and Penang.

"We are also of the opinion that Pakatan has an equal chance in Kedah. That is our focus in the context of state elections," he said.

Six states will have elections called this year after they did not hold state polls concurrently with the 15th General Election in 2022.

Kelantan's five-year term is scheduled to expire on Jun 9, while Kedah has up till Sept 4 and Terengganu till Sept 1.

Selangor's term will expire on Aug 26, Penang has until Aug 2 and Negri Sembilan until Sept 2 to hold state polls.
